Classwork- Arcana Mysteries

“This Arcana Mysteries class has been one of the best classes I have ever taken. Not so much in learning technique, but in opening myself to inspiration and intuition. And watching the Archetypes develop, and develop into a style of their own!” Susan Thames

We are still in the early days of Arcana Mysteries but I am just so blown away by the classwork being shared by the participants that I just had to share.

Teaching an art workshop on the tarot is the thing I’ve been asked the most for over the last few years but I just couldn’t imagine what it would be like, what I would teach and how I would approach it. And then, as they are want to do, the muses came sweeping through and before I knew it Arcana Mysteries was born. Still, I was nervous, the topic is mammoth and the task daunting, I really wanted the participants to come to their own unfolding relationship with the archetypes of the tarot rather than just duplicating my own ever unfolding dialogue with the cards.

And the work, well, it speaks for itself, each with its unique style, perspective and deep wisdom. And I’m LOVING reading about their processes and the reflections on how these images have emerged for them. It is truly both In*Spiring and deepening my own relationship with the cards and these archetypes (and I know the students are learning so much from each other through the sharings)

The participants are sharing their own processes and reflections and I’m learning so much myself. I truly am humbled and blown away. Apart from learning more about the tarot there are lessons for me on getting out of my own way and letting the muses have free rein and, of course, TRUST.

If I’m honest I had to restrain myself from sharing all of the work being created in our group. Keep an eye out for more classwork as we dive further into the Major Arcana of the tarot over the next few months (you can follow #arcanamysteries on Insta).

In this workshop we are using our art journal practice to explore the deep meanings of the major arcana (the trump cards) and taking the Fool’s journey through the tarot with our art journals…Come and explore this everlasting dance through your own creative practice.

I’m a visual poet working in just about any medium I can lay my hands on although I am a professionally trained photographer and a so called “self-taught” artist (of course there have been many teachers on that path). I’m in love with the creative process. I’m a beauty unveiler, light huntress, moment caresser and visionary poetess. Ultimately, all of my work is about helping people peel back the layers to experience the intense beauty of each moment allowing access to both their intuitive wisdom and a deeper connection to spirit and self. (Because the beauty of this life cracks our hearts open and it is through the cracks that light can flow both in and out and connect us back to our divine selves) That is what I do and I do it through photography, art, journaling and teaching. I live in the insanely beautiful Blue Mountains, just shy of Sydney, with my family, our cat and all the winged ones who frequent our garden. Each day here is a wondrous delight of tiny miracles through either the glorious light or magical mists. I would love to work with you, have a look around and see where you are called...
