Pop Up Easter Bunny

This little bunny took me about an hour and a half to paint so there is an edited and sped up version here with commentary on what I’m doing. There is also real time videos below in case you wish to paint along with me.

Supplies:

This list of supplies is for your reference and curiousity- use what you have, many colours can be mixed from a basic set of paints. Of course, they are included so you can fall in love with a new colour for a treat or just to see how I land where I land. I have way more colours than I need but art supply colours are like a box of candy for so many of us- fun and yummy and to be enjoyed without guilt 😊.

  • Watercolour brushes- I used Escoda Perla watercolour brushes in size #10 and #0

  • Watercolour paint- I used a mix of Daniel Smith and W&N professional watercolour paints (French Ultra Marine Blue, Sap Green, Alizarin Crimson, Paynes Grey, Titanium Buff, Quin Gold, Cascade Green, Serpentine Genuine, Hemontite Violet, Burnt Umber, Raw Umber, Winsor Yellow, Trans Pyrrol Orange, Turquoise Blue, Lavendar, Wisteria).

  • Watercolour paper- I used Fabriano Artistico Traditional White Watercolor, 140 lb./300 GSM, Hot Press

  • Masking fluid- I used Schmincke

  • White posca pen (you could use any coloured posca pen to add details and patterns to your easter eggs.

Real Time Videos

Below you will find the real time videos of me painting. They are silent and without music as I’m sure your taste is better than the royalty free music available for this so, grab your paints and playlist and paint along with me if you like. You may wish to watch the video above first as it has commentary on what I’m doing.

Galia Alena

I’m a visual poet working in just about any medium I can lay my hands on although I am a professionally trained photographer and a so called “self-taught” artist (of course there have been many teachers on that path). I’m in love with the creative process. I’m a beauty unveiler, light huntress, moment caresser and visionary poetess. Ultimately, all of my work is about helping people peel back the layers to experience the intense beauty of each moment allowing access to both their intuitive wisdom and a deeper connection to spirit and self. (Because the beauty of this life cracks our hearts open and it is through the cracks that light can flow both in and out and connect us back to our divine selves) That is what I do and I do it through photography, art, journaling and teaching. I live in the insanely beautiful Blue Mountains, just shy of Sydney, with my family, our cat and all the winged ones who frequent our garden. Each day here is a wondrous delight of tiny miracles through either the glorious light or magical mists. I would love to work with you, have a look around and see where you are called... "Where I create, there I am true." Rilke
